Priya Voleti, Ed.D., is an inclusive education consultant at NJCIE. After piloting a dual certification program in elementary and special education during her undergraduate studies, Priya solidified her commitment to meeting the needs of all students within her classroom. She further broadened her breadth of knowledge at Teachers College, where she earned an M.A. in gifted education. After several years of teaching in NYC public schools, Priya realized her affinity to pre-service education and so returned to Teachers College, where she earned an Ed.D. in curriculum and teaching. While in the program, Priya instructed pre-service inclusive educators and played an integral role in the supervision of students in their critical special education placements. Today, Priya continues to teach pre-service and in-service educators at Montclair State University and remains committed to promoting inclusive values within the classroom by connecting with schools as an inclusion facilitator. Her areas of expertise include differentiation, collaborative teaching partnerships, and applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning to instruction.
