Inclusion Facilitator (K-12)

The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education (NJCIE) is a twenty-year old 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to improve the quality of education and access for students with disabilities. We provide training and coaching to school districts, information and consultation to parents, host an annual conference, and offer other services to raise awareness of and support inclusive education.

NJCIE provides services to approximately fifty school districts annually giving us a broad reach and exposure. NJCIE has a strong reputation for excellence across the state. Based on our experience and reputation, we have entered into a partnership agreement with Montclair State University to develop inclusion projects.

SUMMARY
Inclusion Facilitators will provide individualized school-based support, provide presentations and coaching around best practices in inclusion with a focus on co-teaching and differentiation. Facilitators are responsible for developing and providing professional learning opportunities for educators, administrators, and other school staff on strategies to include students with disabilities through collaborative and differentiated instruction. Facilitators design and conduct workshops, facilitate small groups in planning and problem-solving, coach individuals and school teams, and develop a variety of learning options to accommodate a variety of adult learner needs.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Facilitators need to be knowledgeable of best practices in inclusive education and be able to demonstrate these practices to others. Facilitators must be able develop and conduct adult education sessions and courses; empower others to use tools to plan for students who present the most challenges to participation in general education classes, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills for product and task production, and instructional technology.

This position requires a graduate degree (terminal degree preferred) in special education, school psychology, or a related field; experience working in or with schools and school staff; commitment to inclusive education for students with disabilities; and experience in:

  • Collaborative models of support;

  • Supporting students with mild, moderate, or complex disabilities;

  • Providing consultation, support, and follow-up to school teams; and

  • Conducting formal in-service training sessions and group presentations.

Knowledge and experience with MTSS/RTI/PBIS highly desired

Salary: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
